Hometown: Bury St Edmunds
I started running for mental health (I’ve Aspergers). I used to enjoy road running but it ended up just chasing PB’s, continually nursing injuries and being miserable. I took to trails at first because it was ‘kinder’, I can also run with my dog, but mostly I can slow down and enjoy the scenery, in fact my ideal place for trails is definitely anywhere along the Pennine Way. As far as races are concerned, I have 3 ultra distance and a marathon in mind for 2021. If I survive those then who knows what else. I’ve a dream race for 2023 but that’s staying in my head for now! I don’t post a huge amount on Strava as I find it can be counterproductive most of the time. While it can motivate some, it can also cause low self esteem in others. I run for myself and I’m learning it’s not a competition, someone will be faster and some slower. I think I have a good balance ambition and goals just right. We’ll see.
